Walnut Street Reconstruction, Phase 3

 

The proposed improvements include the relocation of approximately 4,270 feet of water main on Walnut Street between US41 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in downtown Evansville in conjunction with the City of Evansville Engineer’s Office road improvement project.  The project is expected to include approximately seven fire hydrants, six gate valves and thirty-one service connections.  Approximately 4,060 feet of existing water main will be abandoned at the conclusion of the project.

  • Recent Progress (June 24 to July 8)

    • Water main crossing Walnut at Canal has been pressure tested and chlorinated.

  • Anticipated Activities for Upcoming Week (July 8 to July 12, 2024) 

    • BBI will tie over water services to the new main from Morton- Garvin.
