SR 62 from Tekoppel to Wabash

​This project involves the installation of 1,260 LF of 8", 3,710 LF of 12", and 2,940 LF of 24" water main from Tekoppel to 9th Avenue. This relocation is in preparation for road improvements planned for this area as part of the Lloyd4U project.

Project Update

  • Recent Progress (March 29 to April 4)

    • Blankenberger completed the installation of new 12” water main on Franklin Street between Lemcke Avenue and Mt. Vernon Avenue.

    • Blankenberger completed the installation of new 12” water main on Lemcke Avenue between Indiana Street and Pennsylvania Street.

    • Blankenberger completed the installation of new 12” water main on Pennsylvania Street between Lemcke Avenue and Rick Davis Way.

    • Blankenberger backfilled the bore pit and receiving pit at Lloyd Expressway and Lemcke Avenue.

    • Blankenberger performed hydrostatic testing and chlorinated the new 12” water main on Lemcke Avenue between Indiana Street and Pennsylvania Street.

    • Blankenberger completed the 2” cut and cap on Leslie Avenue at Forest Avenue.

    • Blankenberger installed the new air relief valve at Pennsylvania Street and Rick Davis Way.

    • Blankenberger performed lawn restoration activities on Indiana Street and Leslie Avenue.

    • Blankenberger removed abandoned valve boxes throughout the project corridor.

  • Anticipated Activities for Upcoming Week (April 5 to April 11) 

    • Blankenberger intends to activate the new 12” water main on Lemcke Avenue between Illinois Street and Franklin Street.

    • Blankenberger intends to complete the connection of the new 12” water main to the existing water main on Illinois Street south of Lemcke Avenue.

    • Blankenberger intends to activate the new 12” water main on Lemcke Avenue between Indiana Street and Pennsylvania Street, pending the results of water quality sampling.

    • Blankenberger intends to perform hydrostatic testing and chlorinate the new 12” water main on Franklin Street between Lemcke Avenue and Mt. Vernon Avenue.

    • Blankenberger intends to install new 12” water main on Mt. Vernon Avenue between Franklin Street and Michigan Street.

    • Infrastructure Systems intends to install a new 16”x12” tapping saddle and perform a 12” wet tap at the intersection of Michigan Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue.

    • MAMCO intends to perform milling of the existing HMA surface on Indiana Street between 9th Avenue and Lemcke Avenue.

    • E&B Paving intends to install HMA surface on Indiana Street between 9th Avenue and Lemcke Avenue.
